Operations and Maintenance Key to Generator Efficiency

USP&E salesman Aaron Seymour took his first trip to Freetown in Sierra Leone this past April. There, he met with local businessmen in Africa to discuss US Power and Environment services and product offerings. Because of an insufficient power grid, many of the local businesses in Freetown rely heavily on generators. It isn’t unusual for them to run these units 24 hours a day. But constant usage can be detrimental if the generator isn’t being properly serviced, which is often the case in Freetown.

Many of the local business owners expressed to Seymour that they had a hard time finding people to come out and service their generators and when they did find someone, the person usually couldn’t fix the problem.

But that is all about to change. Operations and Maintenance is one of USP&E’s core competencies and an area that the company is looking forward to helping out in.

Regularly servicing units is key to efficiency.
“It increases the reliability of the generators and in the long run it’ll save those companies money to be able to purchase the more efficient economic generators that we offer,” Seymour says.
