Diesel Generator Service shows how USP&E operates and maintains generator fleets, with reporting an owner can use.

About USP&E

Powering Possibility. Built for the Frontier.

USP&E is a power generation company that designs, builds and operates power stations, and Diesel Generator Service is its operations and maintenance voice. We keep generator fleets running against agreed availability and report on it plainly.

The service is delivered by teams working to ISO 9001 and ISO 45001, supported by 400+ engineers and project managers across the USA, Africa, the UK and China, with SmartPower monitoring for remote visibility.

What a service relationship includes

  • Planned maintenance: filters, lube oil, coolant and inspections on a calendar tied to your outage windows.
  • Condition monitoring: vibration, thermography and oil analysis feeding one report.
  • Spares: a spares plan sized to the fleet, not the catalogue.
  • Shift handover and permits: written routines that stand up to audit.

Reporting that owners can read

Many service contracts report activity: hours worked, jobs closed. We prefer outcomes: availability, forced outages, cost per running hour and the next three risks. Monthly reports go to the person who owns the budget, not just the site engineer.

When USP&E built the plant, the same engineers who commissioned it write the O&M plan, so handover loses nothing. When another contractor built it, we run a first-month survey to set a baseline.

EPC to O&M handover

Phase What happens
Design Maintainability and spares are specified
Commissioning Operators train on the live plant
Handover Records, tools and KPIs transfer
Operation Reports and reviews on a fixed cycle

We hold ourselves to Extreme Ownership: the outage is ours to explain.

Why we treat service as engineering

Maintenance is where plant life is won or lost. Our routines for lube oil, filters, vibration, oil analysis and thermography are not generic: they are tied to your duty cycle and outage windows. A quarterly outage window might drive the whole calendar, so we plan the work around it instead of the other way round.

We also use service data to inform bigger decisions. If a fleet shows rising cost per running hour, we raise the question of rebuild, replace or move to gas.

Contracts that scale

A service agreement can start with one site and grow into a fleet programme. Terms cover response times, spares holdings and reporting cadence. Clients with many sites appreciate a single scorecard that compares them, which makes it easy to spot the plant that needs attention first.
